Buggenhout forest municipality from Oost-Vlaanderen situated in the lowest part of the country and bordering on the province of Antwerpen and Vlaams Brabant. In 1994 I bought some land and early '95 I built a tiny dovecote only 5 meter. It was divided  in  3 sections, one for each widower and two for the youngsters. I exclusively played vitesse  (Quievrain en Noyon) and won quite a number of prizes till I decided to stop in 1999 because of too much workload mainly on Sundays (The pigeons were on the roof sometimes and I could not always be present)

In 2000 I had some family problems (if you know what I mean), I managed to keep everything, the house and the dovecotes and I started to breed again end of 2000. In 2001 I started with the youngsters only, I did win some prizes but I knew I could do much better. Meanwhile I got acquainted with Christina and according to her the VITESSE went too quickly. So I slowed down a bit to give the pigeons more time. I had 8 widowers and gradually 2 of them were quite remarkable. We played on St-Vincent, instead of 8 flyers there were only 2 and my neighbour thanked me for the very tasty meal.
The result was a 2nd and a 7th prize local in Dendermonde.

In the 12 couple from so-called breeders there was a thorough pruning and only 2 couples remained of which one strain couple that is the strain of several good flyers.
In 2003 3 brothers flew to St-Vincent which resulted in the 1st and 7th local, 1ste F.C.D. 3rd Provincial and  35ste National. Two of them had even excellent results namely the 013/02 and 017/02 (see further)

 017/02 did not miss any prize National 11 out of11 of which 4x top 100.
Actually there are 5 brothers on the widowers dovecote, they really have good results. From 2008 on I put 017/02 & 013/02 for breeding.
